I'm Robert James Lesterio, a Senior Communication Student at USLS-Bacolod. As part of my thesis advocacy entitled "Giving Voice to the Voiceless", I passed a project plan to our Mayor Monico Puentevella containing the description of the advocacy, the specific objectives, the timetable, and the budget and sourcing.
This petition demands to:
(1) Expand the dog pound located at Singcang, Bacolod City, since there's a bigger area available.
(2) Make separate cages for each dog for them to not fight and infect each other with diseases.
(3) Make the City Pound open for all and make the dogs available for adoption after careful screening processes for both the dog and the potential new owner.
(4) That Island Rescue Organization Bacolod Chapter's temporary shelter be relocated to the Dog Pound's area. It will then be well-managed my them.
(5) Make the City Pound a "No-Kill Shelter".
All of this will be possible if we will sign this petition and support the fundraising activities I prepared in collaboration with my friends.
Fundraising activities:
(1) "When Hearts Sing" Fundraising Album featuring local artists to be released on December 9 for only P100.
(2) Dog Walk 2015: "Paws in Motion" which will be on January 2015.
(3) Beneficiary Concert on February 7, 2015 at Santuario de La Salle.
We will be the voice for the voiceless if we support this advocacy and promote it to our friends and relatives. ONE BACOLOD!

Is there a time limit to this petition? I notice our goal is 1000 yet we're only at 31 signatures. Reading those comments before my own, I also noticed that this has been going on for 3 weeks (or more) and I have yet to hear about this anywhere. If we want signatures, we should spread the word of the movement and use the resources at our fingertips. Facebook is widely used for various objectives of make a stand and to keep people aware. If anything, let's at least try and get more people to sign up for this through there.
