NYCACC is well known as a hell hole and its director, Risa Weinstock has proven her incompetence and lack of concern for any animal unfortunate enough to be stuck there. The whole staff should be dumped and the place needs a complete overhaul. I would not leave a cockroach there (I'm sure they have enough).

The conditions of most shelters & pounds in NY are appalling. Beautiful dogs & cats that are young and very adoptable are being killed. Animal intake paperwork is being lost, also at some shelters no paperwork is done. This is allowing these poor animals fate to become bait animals or sent to animal testing facilities. We are demanding only what is humane and the right thing to do.

What goes on at the nyacc is beyond unacceptable. I am sickened on a daily basis after seeing all the atrocities they commit. Killing a animal for space is not euthanasia its murder! They leave sick and injured animals in pain without proper treatment. They used expired drugs when they kill the animals&drugs that arent even approved in most areas. They dont sedate the animal first so its not like being put to sleep. The animal suffers a horrific death. They are given max 18hrs from the time theyre listed to live. If you find any of these sickening behaviors and more acceptable how can you even consider yourself a human being. The conditions of most shelters & pounds in NY are appalling. Beautiful dogs & cats that are young and very adoptable are being killed. Animal intake paperwork is being lost, also at some shelters no paperwork is done. This is allowing these poor animals fate to become bait animals or sent to animal testing facilities. I believe it should be a law that all animals be spayed/neutered and no animal should be euthanised unless approved by a board unanimously that the animal is suffering or is terminal. I would not leave it to one individual. It must be board decision with room for a vet to dispute their verdict

What goes on at the nyacc is beyond unacceptable. I am sickened on a daily basis after seeing all the atrocities they commit. Killing a animal for space is not euthanasia its murder! They kill puppies,kittens that are days old.they kill animals rescues are trying to pull. They abort late term pregnancies in cats and dogs. They leave sick and injured animals in pain without proper treatment. They used expired drugs when they kill the animals&drugs that arent even approved in most areas. They dont sedate the animal first so its not like being put to sleep. The animal suffers a horrific death. They are given max 18hrs from the time theyre listed to live. If you find any of these sickening behaviors and more acceptable how can you even consider yourself a human being. I believe whole heartedly that all these demands in this petition can successfully be met. If many other large cities can go no kill so can NY! Everything that can be done to make every animal at every NYCACC should be done to get them adopted, fostered or rescued before they are neutered!! NYCACC is well known as a hell hole and its director, Risa Weinstock has proven her incompetence and lack of concern for any animal unfortunate enough to be stuck there.
