The purpose of this petition is to bring attention to the current lack of tot-lots in Esencia. Our community is marketing itself as a place for young families to live, yet they failed to plan for a tot-lot in until March of 2018, 3 years after their initial release of homes. There have been multiple conversations with families who live outside of the RMV area considering moving to Esencia. They all mention that the lack of parks/tot-lots right now is a concern and a driver for them when choosing a new location to call home.
Sendero currently has 4 tot-lots/parks within walking distance to the residents, which shows the commitment the HOA was willing to make to young families in the community. We feel Esencia deserves the same.
We are specifically addressing the lack of a tot-lot at the new Hilltop location, and the timing for the Pavilion lot. The anticipated date of March 2018 for the Pavilion is a long time for families with young children in the area to wait. We are petitioning that the Rancho Mission Viejo HOA put in a small covered tot-lot before the end of this summer (September 2017) to accommodate the current need. Since the future plans for the Pavilion does include a park, the preferred location for this lot would be at the Hilltop.

I really thought this might just disappear into the void but seeing how many of you feel the exact same way about these parks is actually kind of overwhelming in the best way possible. It turns out I am definitely not the only one frustrated by the lack of space for the kids to run around and somehow we have turned that frustration into something that feels like actual movement now.

I live in Sendero and love being able to walk to the parks here with my kids. I can't believe that Esencia has NONE! That seems crazy to me and is not in line with the advertising of the community that calls this a home for young families!
Most newer communities have parks and tot lots with play structures at every main common area as well as pocket parks. Sendero is too far away for families to walk to with small kids. We have been here for a year and are surprised at the lack of progress in any green space areas or places for kids to play. Thank you for considering adding more kid friendly areas.
Have 3 children ages 7, 4 & 3 and we'd love to have more play areas! We were told there was going to be a park in Aurora when purchasing our house....those plans have changed apparently or we were told a mistruth.
We are moving to Ecensia in May and this was one of my biggest concerns! No play lots--this is a must for a community filled with kiddos! Please build some
Being a mother of three young ones and previously living in Ladera Ranch, I'm quite surprised that there are no tot lots on the Esencia side. As nice as the tot lots are in Sendero, they are still driving distance away. This community is filled with young ones now and they deserve to have a place to slide, swing, climb, meet new friends, etc.
We need a tot lot. Our children deserve it and we pay a lot to live where we do.
My kids would love more tot lots around-and my wife and I would too! It's nice to kids to have places to play and for adults to chit chat and meet neighbors. Thank you!

We moved to Esencia as a family with a young daughter and with hopes to expand our family in the near future. The promise of a family friendly now community is not appropriate for this community as of now. We are highly disappointed to see so many pocket parks go to waste with a couple of rocks for decor while our children play in he steet.
