This petition is in support of an equine/agricultural facility in Union County, NC. Union County has an extensive horse and cattle community that is in need of a facility where activities such as horse and livestock shows, clinics, auctions, rodeos, team penning events, 4-H, FFA and cattlemen events and so many other functions can be held right here in our own county. Each year hundreds of thousands of dollars are lost to other counties and states because we do not have a facility right here in the heart of horse country. As a supporter of this petition, please use the comment section below to respond to the following questions. Your help is needed to encourage everyone you know who lives in Union County, or has horses boarded, or spends money on equine activities in Union County to come to this website and fill out this petition. Even if you do not have horses or livestock and are in favor of this petition, please fill out your name, address and email information if you live in Union County. This information will be presented to our County Commissioners, so please tell us as much information as you can. Please tell us about the following in the comment section below. 1) # head of horses 2) # head of cattle 3) Acreage dedicated to horses/cattle 4) Estimate of $ spent yearly on feed/hay/wormers/supplements 5) Estimate of $ spent yearly on farrier needs 6) Estimate of $ spent yearly on veterinarian care 7) Estimate of $ spent yearly on showing (clothing, tack, entry fees, travel, etc.) 8) $ spent yearly on boarding horses in Union County 9) $ spent yearly on lessons/training 10) $ spent yearly on organizational memberships

i have 4 horses and 15 acres. spend well over 5k a year on feed and vet visits alone. let's get a real facility built here already.

long overdue. my kids are in 4-H and we need a local spot for clinics and shows. stop sending our tax dollars elsewhere.

3 head of cattle and 2 horses. acreage is 10. costs me a fortune to haul everything out of county. this facility would be huge for the local economy.

why are we not doing this already? so much wasted potential for our community. do it for the kids and the farmers.

too much money leaving this county every single year. we have the space and the people. just need the facility.

We definitely need this! tired of driving over to neighboring counties just to participate in local events. keeping the money in union county makes total sense.
