We, the undersigned, call upon the New Jersey City University Board of Trustees to make a commitment to provide adjunct faculty with compensation equal to what full-time faculty receive for teaching extra courses, also known as “overload.” As NJCU’s adjunct faculty continue to work under an expired contract, we call upon the Board to practice sound fiscal management and to set aside in escrow, adequate funds to ensure equal pay upon the conclusion of labor negotiations.

I honestly never thought this would gain this much steam but here we are and it is wild to see so many people actually getting it. It feels like the administration is finally gonna have to turn their heads even if they keep trying to ignore the reality of what teaching actually costs us.

Equal pay for adjuncts, office hours pay and insurance benefits. Without us, NJCU wouldn't survive.
It's tough enough making a living as an adjunct. We fill a vital roll in Higher Ed and should be compensated accordingly. This includes reasonable pay increases to help defray the increasing cost of goods and services..
qualified professionals deserve equal pay ! stop treating us as unqualified workers !
In the past 6 years adjunct faculty have had a small raise of $50 dollars per credit! This is while the cost of transportation and other living expenses have gone up steadily. Bringing adjunct faculty's compensation to the "overload" level can address this in a very small but significant manner.
At the very least the NJCU Board should consider an increase from the current compensation which is long overdue for a cost of living increase. Remember even President Obama has said that Institution leaders at the top must not forget those at the bottom when it comes to compensation.
Yes adjunct Faculty deserve equal pay

Its about equality. Same hard work is done by all teachers no matter what contract you have. Rather Adjunct put more effort as they are doing (by choice most of them).
