The Elmwood Park Neighborhood Civic Organization introduced a reputable farmer’s market to Elmwood Park. This market would band our neighbors together every Sunday and create a sense of camaraderie in the neighborhood reminiscent of our past. Angelo and the EPNCO considered several tentative locations for the market in town, both on public and private property. This farmer’s market is of no cost to the village or taxpayers and would generate income for the location hosting the event. It was to be held every Sunday morning from May to October. This weekly event was especially vital as the Freedom Festival and Fall Festival have been canceled by the Village. Unfortunately, the EPNCO has hit a roadblock and the village stated that our organization shall not promote, sponsor, or advertise this event in town. We will stay persistent and steadfast in bringing this event to our neighbors in the near future. On a positive note, the EPNCO, in conjunction with the Montclare-Elmwood Park Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, and Lions Club, will be sponsoring and hosting a Concert in the Park on Thursday, June 24th in Central Park on 75th/Fullerton. Denny Diamond, a tribute artist who performs Neil Diamond and Johnny Cash songs, will be on center stage that night for this all free event. Neighbors are encouraged to attend and show support for all of Elmwood Park’s organizations that night. Please sign this petition to show your support for a Farmers Market in Elmwood Park.

The village board needs to get with the times. Other towns have these and they are great for the community.

Ridiculous that they are blocking this. It costs the village nothing and helps local vendors. Let the market happen.

We need this! It would be so nice to walk to buy fresh produce on a Sunday morning instead of driving out of town.

Seriously? No festivals and now no farmers market? Why do they want our town to be so boring
