We, the home owners of Eagles Hammock, are tired of unwanted solicitors entering our neighborhood, taking up our time and begging for money. Additionally, we have found that many solicitors are in fact not solicitors at all; rather, they are scam artists, thieves, burglars and even home invaders. We deserve better. We deserve peace and quiet and the quality of life that we pay for!
Enacted Jacksonville City ORDINANCE 2013-713-E provides that the City will, upon receipt of signatures from 60% (336) of us, enforce the "No Soliciting" signs at the main entrances of our neighborhood. (Section 250.703(c)) This will constitute as sufficient notice that soliciting and peddling is now legally prohibited anywhere inside the boundaries of Eagles Hammock.
By signing this petition, I am notifying the City of Jacksonville that I live in Eagles Hammock and I want this ordinance enforced in my neighborhood.

The doorbell rings again and these aggressive solicitors act like they own the place while we pay the property taxes. I am currently hounding the city office to move this process forward because they clearly prefer to ignore our safety concerns until we force their hand.

The momentum we have built makes it clear that the residents of Eagles Hammock are done putting up with these intruders. The city officials can no longer ignore our demand for peace when we have finally organized as a united front against these solicitors.

As I work from my home office in the front of the house, I've seen an increase in solicitors throughout the daytime hours leaving info in mail boxes, knocking on doors and last week a truck selling meat door to door, as well as ministry groups of three to four walking the streets on the weekends. Not comfortable having people carousing the neighborhood.
I totally agree as this is also a safety concern for the community overall, not all these people are good with good intentions.
We tired of companies sending their employees to bother this neighborhood with unsolicited sales and advertising
I feel strongly we should be able to enjoy our homes free from the (constant) bother of solicitors....
So tired of it! Baby can’t nap when random strangers ring bells everyday! Been here 3 years and this year has been the worst for soliciting

Stop the Soliciting! Dangerous for homeowners --- or leasees - to open the door to strangers! We moved into an HOA community because it was a No Soliciting neighborhood! We need the protection!
