The company finally agreed to drop the 9/5 schedules and return to our previous agreements. I am drained from this fight but grateful we kept at it until they listened. Stay alert to ensure they actually follow through on this transition.
We as paying union members that work on CSX network want an end to the 9/5 work schedules. They are inhibitive to the balance of work life versus family life. We already negotiated a 4x10 work schedule as well as a 8/6 work schedule in previous agreements. We as the group with boots within the rails do not want 9/5 work schedule to continue. Stand in Solidarity to let our voices be heard
Seeing this level of support confirms that the frustration with these schedules is widespread and deep. It is exhausting to keep fighting for what was already agreed upon but your backing gives me the resolve to keep pushing forward.

9 days is too long to be away from family. It ends up being 9 twelve hr days instead of 8 nine hr days and and a 8 like agreement states. Then you have 5 days off but have to start next week at 130 am which shortens your days off with bus pulling at midnight. After working it I couldn't do this schedule long term I would have to bid elsewhere.

This 9/5 really screws me cause I have my son every weekend except for National Guard drill weekends which I loose time if it falls on a work week and loses time with my son if it s an off week what the hell?

My husband only sees his children 6-8 days a month! When the schedule changed it showed that CSX really does not care about their employees. It is causing a lot of stress on the workers and the families. Please go back to 4/10's! My kids need their dad and I need my husband!

This schedule of 9/5 is horrifically impacting the quality of our family time. Kids miss their dad. And dad is worn out when he is home. It is not heathy for families mentally or physically. And not healthy mentally or physically for the employee. Thank you for your time.

I’m in favor of 4-10’s. Personally I’m away from home (wife 3-kids) and marriage issues started. Wish I could work local but don’t have seniority. Three of my friends I hired out with are now divorced since schedule change. Praying to God I can keep my family and job. Losing my kids is heartbreaking!!

How do you change the work schedule without having a vote? Working 9 days straight is one of the most unsafe things you can do. I like to know what my 98 dollars a month is going for. I guess th o change my rest days and get no bump. Thanks union for sticking up for us!!!!!
