The new HBO Entertainment Contract has created a dangerous precedent by reducing the rest period turnaround time from ten (10) hours to nine (9) hours in Article XVII-Rest Periods. We, the undersigned, feel that the 10 hour turnaround is sacrosanct and should never be put on the negotiating table. It is not a monetary issue, on the contrary, it is a safety issue. Anything less than 10 hours should be considered dangerous and non-negotiable. We urge the Local 764 Executive Board, including President Patricia White and Business Representative Frank Gallagher, and the International to use all of it's resources to protect the 10 hour turnaround. The industry cannot afford any more injuries or deaths as a result of "sweatshop" conditions caused by insufficient rest periods.
The momentum behind this push proves the industry is done accepting dangerous rest periods. Post this link on Facebook and text three friends because we need to keep this pressure on President White and the board.

9 hours is not enough when you factor in the commute home and back. people are falling asleep behind the wheel after these doubles. keep it at 10.

Ridiculous. We are humans not machines. This is how accidents happen on set.

10 hours is the bare minimum. Anything less is just asking for a lawsuit or a tragedy.

Please fix this. My husband comes home completely wrecked and can barely function. It is straight up dangerous.

I been in this industry for 20 years and the exhaustion is getting out of control. Do not let them take our rest away!
