Since September 1, the TTC has unilaterally stopped service on the Elson Road loop. They have done this because they have a new requirement for service on Steeles east of Mc'Cowan Road.

This decision has had a tremendous negative impact on existing customers of the TTC. There are people who walk almost 1.5 km (From Denison & Highglen) and now they will have to walk an additional 1 Km. This might be fine in summer but it is completely unacceptable in the winter months !

This decision was not based on community input and quite frankly treats the existing fare paying customers with the utmost disrespect.

As is clear, there are over 2300 customer trips being made on Elson vs the new requirement of 700 trips on the Steeles East routing.

It boggles the mind that the TTC would terminate service provided to 2300 users so that 700 new users could receive service !

I have sent multiple emails to the Chair of the TTC, Councillor Karen Stintz and have received no response to date, not even an acknowledgement of my emails. GM Andy Byford has acknowledged my email and has promised to have his staff look at the issue.

We need to continue to exert pressure on the TTC to reverse this decision.
