The regulatory board confirmed today that the proposed tariff adjustments are cancelled. We secured a formal commitment to maintain current pricing structures for all residents. I will monitor the upcoming quarterly budget reports to ensure this policy holds.
Electricity MUST be treated as a basic right. It is a daily necessity one cannot live without. No unfair conditions should be attached to it, such as HOME VALUE, STATUS, VAT DEDUCTIONS ETC. Electricity Tariff requirements goes against our constitutional rights, mainly Discrimination and inequality. It should be made affordable to all.
We are approaching the one hundred signature mark which serves as the threshold for my formal request for a meeting with the regulatory commission. Please distribute the link through your professional networks to ensure we reach this target before the close of business.

Price for unit of electricity is way to much. Why must the public pay for the blunders of all the CEOs and managers incompetence and when they leave they are still given a golden handshake as well as all the corruption taking place.

Electricity costs are way too high. We pay over R3 per kWh in Wilderness, Western Cape (Die Vleie/The Lakes), plus a R900 basic "network demand charge". If it goes up anymore, we will have to disconnect from Eskom and rely on only gas and candles.

100% agree. It is a necessity. But worse is the fact that customers like us has to pay for losses of mismanagement, theft and corruption. We are held hostage to the fact that we have to pay. No where else to turn or sit without electricity.

I am a single parent with daughter and 2 grandkids. I cannot afford electricity anymore. Its too much. Paying R1800 per month in a small flat is ridiculous. I have a bond and levies etc to pay as well. High electricity tariffs must fall

It's so wrong and unfair to towards all in this world. Not all is rich and making enough money to take care of themselves and their family needs... to just work for electricity money for those who is abit under privileged we should have a heart for all. If the money isn't enough for enough units I'm pretty sure those who is struggling is thinking so beyond to save in their house by using less electricity... pls Eksom. City of cape town. Major. Have a Heart and use your mind as God created you to be kind and think of others just not about yourself... the world need one another to uplight one another up. With this bad pandemic that took place it took people work away and it took mine too... I can thank God I'm still/ will are Still surviving...please be generous. Think like a poor man should think... God bless you all
