If a student DOES NOT pass this test, they can not attend college, regardless of their excellent academic performance and/or the multiple times they have tried to pass. This Gateway test, supersedes the State of Georgia test requirements, in which is NOT mandated by NO other county, in the state of Georgia. Also note, Gateway preparatory classes starts at the 4th grade level. The students are given their first test in the 10th grade, which puts many transferred students, starting at the 11th grade at a disadvantage. We are seeking reasonable amendments within the Gateway test. It should be designed to extract skills and positive motivation from the students; instead of producing stress, discouragement and unfairness. Thank you for your support of this vital cause.
