After the very sad loss of a young friend this week. It's come to my attention that depression is an issue that schools like to brush under the carpet to some extent.
...Don't get me wrong, it is ON the curriculum. But the sort of information these short and snappy 'PSHE' lessons give seemed to simply allow for a self diagnosis, not a resolution or recovery from these issues. I personally don't feel that's the type of information a teenager needs to be fed. We need to know HOW to deal with the issue, and WHO to talk to about it.
So sign my petition, and get it on the curriculum!
