Dear ECIA Board,
This letter, signed by the signatures below, is a display of each of our disapproval, dismay, and extreme unhappiness with how the pool remodeling has been managed. The pool is the main amenity that we all love and count on in the summer and having this unavailable to us for the entire summer of our kids’ summer vacation is not acceptable.
First of all we don’t want to hear how contractors could not be counted on, that things took longer than expected, that “things” came up, that the weather didn’t permit us, etc. All of this is normal in any renovation, and means that you don’t start a summer project in March, but rather start contracts/permitting in January. Second, this enormous project with its hefty price tag is due to the ineptness of pool management and board oversight for years. Costs could have been reduced if properly managed on an annual basis. Furthermore, a more responsible, family friendly response would have been to do this in increments so that the pool could have been open all summer. We also don’t appreciate the jolly tones of the updates and the constant moving of the date back week after week. This has all been unacceptable.
We request that the pool be opened through September to accommodate the fact that we have lost the entire summer pool time with our families during summer vacation. We demand that our ECIA dues be reduced or prorated due to your extreme mishandling of our money and the poor management of this renovation. Last, we also demand that a community meeting be held immediately so that we can voice, in person, our dismay at the manner that this renovation has been handled.

Decades of mismanagement, lack of proper maintenance, and simple "kicking the can down the road" have led to this situation as well as the state of the irrigation system in the athletic fields which after a $40,000+ replacement are currently unusable. The governing body of our HOA has been either incompetent or impudent in performing its role in maintaining our amenities and acting for all the residents of the community. It's time to change how we are represented. This is the first step. If this petition is ignored, expect more action.

Outrageous. What is most outrageous is the way this was communicated to us in emails without any acknowledgement of how much of an upset this is.
The pool mismanagement is sloppy and clearly not led by professionals. Refunds are in order, I agree.
I am so disappointed in this situation. We should not even have to sign a petition. The ECIA should know better

Deeply unhappy my kids didn’t get to experience the pool this summer. The pool we paid our fees to have access to. Communication to the members was lousy. No alternate summer fun was offered. How easy would it have been to provide a bouncy house or water balloon toss, popsicles several days throughout the summer for the kids? This should have been completed by June 1. I believe it could have with the right management. I believe part of my HOA dues should be reimbursed.
