We demand that the pool at 340 North Water St be reopened for swimming now, so residents can use it during the season it is meant for. It should not be left closed in the middle of summer, especially when many people chose to live here with the pool in mind.

For nine months of the off season, there was time to handle repairs and work through the regulatory requirements needed to keep the pool available. That work should have been done in advance. Instead, residents are now paying the price for delays and neglect, and the result is a closed pool when it should be serving the community.

This matters because a pool is not just an extra amenity. For many residents, it is part of why they are leasing here at all. When it stays closed during the warmest part of the year, it takes away something people expected, relied on, and planned around.

We call on those responsible for 340 North Water St to finish any needed repairs, complete all required regulatory steps, and get North Water swimming again without further delay. The community should not have to lose access because basic maintenance and planning were not handled in time.

North Water Swimming Update

August 2, 2026

I want to thank all of you for making the effort to email me and sign the petition. Update - I got a letter from Jeanine warning me not to distribute material in the building, that residents complained about being solicited. As of this posting, at least 61 residents felt quite differently! I sent the petition to Jeanine on Friday, as well as to Trinity management co , so they may be reading this, fyi. Jeanine and I are supposed to talk Monday, but my preference is to hold/arrange a " town hall" type meeting where we asll say our piece and the response is known to all. one of our residents , as you'll see in the comments, just signed a 15 month lese 2 weeks ago to get two summers with the pool! Can you imagine? One more bit of color- if you go on the buildings website, its primary sales tool, it says in the copy "Our crown jewel is the heated pool" Please spread the word on the petition and ill keep you all posted, probably next via a private email group MM

The primary reason we chose North Water over other options was for the pool and amenities. In addition to pool, I inquired with management about the broken fire pit on the 15th floor - I was basically told it was too expensive to be fixed in a timely manner... we pay premium rental prices for a premium experience... very frustrating to hear that something was too expensive to fix...

I’ve lived at NW for almost 10 yrs and pay a sizable amount for rent. The pool is a quality of life amenity during the summer months and I’m paying for it via rent payments.

Most of us choosing to live here is because of the amenities and mainly because of the outdoor pool. This is unacceptable after 9 months closed, to decide to perform maintenance in the middle of summer. Rents include access to all but if no access is given and no actions are taken why should we not be faced with what we deserve.

We need the pool, otherwise why are we paying such high rents for no amenities in the summer when it matters most to Chicago residents.

Property management in our building has been so bad, closing the pool mid summer when paying overprice rent is not okay. Need rent deduction or even better resolution.

They aren’t doing anything to remedy the situation, it’s just not right, and to find out that they did in fact know about this prior, and had time to fix it, but chose not to is the reason I’m signing!

Please respect us as residents. This new management is ridiculous.
