This is a formal petition to the Wachesaw Plantation East Board of Directors to schedule an emergency meeting with members of the WPE Community to discuss the denial of amenities that has been initiated by the Board, specifically access to the Pool and Fitness Center.

The Community has requested over multiple mediums (email to First Services, NextDoor App, Facebook page, etc) to hold this meeting but the board has not responded and continue to unilaterally make decisions that impact the entire community. This poses direct risks to the community since the HOA is in Breach of Contract and is open to lawsuits from the community who are not being provided with the Amenities they purchased when buying real estate in WPE.

This petition requests a properly advertised meeting (as per the WPE ByLaws document) with the Board, FirstServices and our community Lawyer where the public can propose ideas, ask questions, and work with the Board to help them meet their responsibility in providing the aforementioned amenities.

Thank you for your consideration signing this petition.

Update: Board initially said they were going to hold a meeting but then backed out of the meeting (see email from FirstServices dated July 1st). We would need 25% of the community to sign in order to force a special meeting according to our ByLaws

Updates

June 30, 2020

The Board backed out of our scheduled meeting and continues to ignore our requests for transparency. We need you to forward this link to your neighbors today so we can hit that twenty-five percent threshold to force their hand.

June 30, 2020

We hit our threshold to force a special meeting but the Board is still ignoring us. Post the link to our Facebook group right now to keep the pressure high. Email your representative on the Board today and demand they honor the bylaws.

I live in Pistachio Loop WPE and over the past 6 months have sent several emails to First Residential and HOA regarding pool closure, community security, condo building cleanliness, safety, plus many others, but have received no responses. Other pools in First Residential port folio have been open. Why should we pay the full HOA price, whilst First Residential is pocketing our fees for doing nothing???

THIS IS SIMPLE, LET EACH GUEST SIGN A WAIVER AND THE BOARD IS COVERED. EITHER DENYING A MEETING OR IGNORING REQUESTS IS A BREACH OF CONTRACT. JUST CAUSE YOU SEND OVER A LETTER FROM YOUR ATTORNEY DOESN'T JUSTIFY A RESPONSE.

There needs to be at the very least a community meeting. Remove all furniture, make everyone bring their own chairs. Place hand cleaning stations in bathrooms along with plenty of soap stations. Hand sanitizer stations in pool areas. The water is filled with chemicals Itself. We are going to b living with this virus for a long time. You just can’t keep everything closed without then lessening our fees.

Why are they afraid to have a meeting to hear from the members of the hoa? Regardless of the outcome, we should at least have the right to give our opinion!

I would just like to know what the reasoning is in keeping the pool closed. They have not communicated with any of the residents. Go look at the sign at the playground at Huntington State Park. I believe something like that would protect them from a lawsuit!

I would like to understand the items the board feels WE cannot provide. We certainly have the appropriate board insurance coverage. Share the directives of DHEC and our paid attorneys.

Should have been opened long ago like the other pools in the area

Other pools have opened with waivers. The playground at Huntington Beach is open with appropriate signage. We should be able to get this done!
