Mr Mayor and city councilmen of Longmont: East Longmont is growing and one grocer is not enough. Please intervene on our behalf to secure another grocer for the 17th and Pace location.
We hit 100 signatures today which proves the neighborhood is united on needing this grocery store. Please post the petition link on Facebook and text three neighbors to get them on board.

The timing of the Pace Safeway couldn't have been worse. Their is now a new apartment complex and subdivision that has been built but yet we have one store on the east side of Longmont. Why can't we get a Trader Joe's or another updated Safeway in the empty property?

I have lived on the east side of Longmont for 28 years, long before the building explosion and any businesses in this area. I love King Soopers but it is always crowded and I would love another option in the area. A church in a retail space? No thank you, I don't see this helping out our neighborhood at all.

I’ve begun to look for a grocery store outside the area because King Soopers at 17th and Pace is TOO overcrowded! The lines are too long and the aisles too crowded. Safeway was poorly managed...it was not doing poorly because of the lack of customers on our side of town.

I understand it's this is not going to make much of a difference as businesses have their own set of requirements to open a store, but the City of Longmont needs to step in and help. They have approved over 1000 new units on the east side of town, which is underserved with amenities.

King Soopers is incredibly busy and I’ve noticed they can’t keep the shelves stocked due to heavy traffic of shoppers, being the only grocery store in a very densely populated area. We desperately need another grocery store in the Safeway spot!!

The East side is seriously underserved of grocery stores. You cannot even find a parking space at the one grocer we do have. Our local government courts industry all the time. They need to spend some time and money courting another grocer.

It would be great to have a Sprouts, but honestly any grocery store added would be better than an empty storefront.
