We need a new grocery store in Duffield, Va., to serve families and commuters alike. Right now, our town has a traffic count of over 20,000, but because of our small population, town limits, and rural location, we do not have the kind of local access to groceries that a community this active deserves.
A grocery store in Duffield would make daily life easier for working people, older residents, and anyone trying to keep a household going. It would mean less time spent driving far for basic food and supplies, and more time staying close to home, work, and family. For commuters, it would provide a convenient place to stop on the way to or from work. For families, it would help make regular shopping more practical and affordable.
Our area is busy enough to support this kind of service, and the need is real. A new grocery store would not only fill an important gap, it would also strengthen Duffield as a place where people can live, work, and meet everyday needs without having to leave town for everything.
We ask the people who make these decisions to recognize the demand that already exists here and support a new grocery store in Duffield, Va. Our community should have the basic services that match the traffic and the lives of the people who pass through and call this place home.

Duffield is a wonderful town full of hardworking people, but we shouldn’t have to travel out of town for something as basic as groceries. Bringing a grocery store here would benefit families, especially seniors, create jobs, and help our community thrive.
I’m a single mom of 2 and having to travel for work and groceries make it harder than ever especially with nothing close to us a lot of things like weather and prices make it harder than ever on some of us to get out when things aren’t close
Many residents must travel long distances for basic groceries, creating a hardship for families, seniors, and those with limited transportation. A local grocery store would provide convenient access to fresh food, create jobs, and strengthen our community.
Although we have two dollar stores, the Duffield area is suffering from not having a major grocery outlet. We need an area to go grocery shopping for our families. Many people in the area do not have transportation to other towns to buy food. It’s a good 20 minutes either direction to purchase meats and produce.
I have to pick groceries for my sister who lives in Duffield due to her mobility.
To me it is a convenience. To be able to get off work and make a quick trip to grab something we ran out of and not have to drive 15 miles to get it. Also , there are people in our community that do not have means of transportation to get to other stores .

I’m signing this petition because we need a grocery store!! When I say a grocery store I mean one that isn’t going to price gauge and sell good quality food! Aldi’s would be ideal as they have less preservative, additives, dyes , etc in their brands that they sell!
