The students of Duquesne University request that the administration work with Port Authority Transportation to provide discounted or free bus fare to be included in the tuition fees. Many other colleges and universities in the area are provided with this service. As stated on the PAT website "The University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie MellonUniversity and Chatham Universityare members of Port Authority's U-Pass program. Their students, staff and faculty may ride any bus, T or the Mon Incline within any zone at any time just by using theirvalid, unexpireduniversity-issued ID card" and "Students, staff and faculty atCarlow University,Everest Institute, Point Park University and Robert Morris University are entitled to a discounted bus, T or Mon Incline farewithin Zone 1 during select days/timesby showing theirvalid, unexpiredschool-issued ID cards. The discounted fare is $1.00 one way". We propose that the Universitycollaborates with PAT to make either of these options available to Duquesne students.
