Sub: Revision of rents during the lockdown period

Ref: Exclusion of foodings charge only

Dear Sir/Madam,

Hope all the family members of owner of RKG Hostel and its staffs and their family are Healthy & safe.

You are aware that most of Hostellers and their families are going though very difficult financial condition due to COVID-19 outbreak. As of now, the income of many Hostellers or their families became uncertain as economic activities grind to a halt. Many of the Hostellers come from lower income group families. With very little or no savings, it will not be possible for them to pay amount as Hostel fees.

In this situation also, R.K.G. Hostel is asking for full charges those who are staying and Room charges for those who are not staying there right now.

Hostellers of R.K.G. Hostel vide their requests to RKG Hostel owner during 1-2 weeks of April,2020:

1. Complete waiver of the Rental charges for months during the lockdown period now (2020-2021);

2. Complete waiver of the Foodings charges and atleast 50% waiver of Room charges for months during the lockdown period now (2020-2021)
(as not like other times when you could give the rooms to other persons at rent if we could not stay there)

We are yet to receive any positive response against our request from our respected Elder Dada, Rupak Ghosh
(As we could not reach to him since we are forced to stop calling him via mobile by RKG authority, & we think Elder Dada, Rupak Ghosh do not know about our appeals too.

In this regard, we would like to draw your kind attention on the Orders,

We, the Hostellers of R.K.G. Hostel, want to convey that:

1.As RKG Authority has continued their services those who stays there and it is required to pay the salaries to the staffs (including cook), Hostellers are ready to pay the charges (if possible less than 50% of the Room charge only (as per normal period)).

2.Waiving of late payment fine by RKG Authority which we are supporting but we want you to take, kindly if possible less than 50% of the Room charge only (as per normal period).

3.R.K.G. Hostel is charging Room charge for the months during this lockdown period for whole session (2020-2021) whereas RKG Authority even can not give the rooms to others (other than present hostellers) during this lockdown time. Hence, charging the full Room charges is completely arbitrary and unjustified.

In these scenarios, it requested that atleast less than 50% of the Room Charge only (as per normal period) fees may be charged during this lockdown period.

Hope the RKG Authority will do the needful at the earliest.
