This a petition to the Austin PD and University of Texas PD to relocate the homeless living on or near Guadalupe St. and make it illegal to live there. They are homeless by choice and constantly harass college students and other passersby for the little money they have. They have tactics for eliciting money such as standard harassment, stalking, and even lying about themselves. West Campus is not a safe place at night and the homeless are a big factor in that. In recent weeks numerous assaults have taken place behind Guadalupe St. where many of them live. West Campus is the standard living situation for most UT students and as such is not a safe place to foster a strong pursuit towards academia. Please help make UT a safe place to grow.

Finally someone said it. I dont feel safe walking to my apartment after dark anymore and I pay way to much rent to be harassed every single day just to walk to class.

My friend got followed all the way to her dorm last week. Enough is enough. Keep the drag safe for students!!
