The zoning board officially denied the permit for the new store. Our town will keep its character because we refused to let this development take root.
Seeing this kind of momentum confirms that I am not the only one who cares about the character of our home. This growing energy gives me real hope that we can protect the quiet life we have built in Mt. Ulla.

Seeing one hundred people sign this confirms I am not alone in wanting to protect our town from this store. It means the world to have neighbors backing this effort to save the place I call home.

We must remember that the site selected for this store is located on Ths Scenic Byway which the Mount Ulla Historic Preservation Society worked so diligently to get approved by the State of North Carolina. Come see our notebook of photos of our beautiful rural Mount Ulla.

We have enough of these... we dont need one on every flipping corner. Taking up more land, creating more traffic all to make a crappy company more money. If they paid the hard working people what they deserve it may b different. But it just goes in the big wigs pocket so how bout NO

A commercial building of this type will destroy the scenic byway through Mt Ulla and change the historic landscape of this rural area. Not to mention there are numerous Dollar General stores within a 10 mile radius.

This land being proposed is in a rural, historical, farm, scenic byway, beautiful, peaceful community. We cherish the qualities of country living and do not welcome bright lighting and other negative effects caused by modern changes such as a Dollar General Store would bring.
