Dollar General confirmed today that they will begin the site selection process for a new store in Bertrand. My office is currently coordinating with their regional development team to review zoning requirements for the property. We have achieved our objective and I will provide updates as construction timelines become available.

The volume of support for this petition has gained enough traction to transition our effort into a formal proposal for the Dollar General corporate development office. I am currently formatting our documentation and local impact data to include with the signed list as we initiate contact with their regional representative.

DG would greatly benefit by building a store in Bertrand MO. There are hundreds of people who drive through or within 1/4 mile of Bertrand daily that live in rural areas of Mississippi & Scott Counties that would utilize this DG in Bertrand to save having to drive through the more congested areas and stoplights of town that are 6 - 10 miles away.
I think it is great that the community is trying to get the Dollar General Store. Not only for the convenience of the citizens, which is greatly needed, but to bring tax income to the city and allow them to promote Bertrand.
Our town needs something here for the people. We have lost everything but our Post Office. Very much needed.
Would be great to have a store in small town . Gives kids and adults chance of jobs and also gives the older senior citizens place to shop in there town !
I would love to see a dollar store in our area! We have to drive about 10 miles just for necessities....milk, bread, toilet tissue...... I think a lot of people would benefit from the convenience !! Hope you choose us
A good idea for a small town. This will give meaning to the word "community". Kudos.
I think this it is a fantastic idea to build a Dollar Generel in Barnhart! I think it would do wonders for the people and the business!
