The walk from Liberty Quays to the Dockyard campus can be quite time consuming and with winter on the way we are aware that it’s only going to get worse. Therefore we are starting a petition for a shuttlebus service from Liberty Quays to both Pembroke and Dockyard campus.

The walk to the Dockyard takes too long and it's a bit exhausting - also taking into account that this winter will be extremely cold, we'd really need a shuttle in between Liberty Quays and our new campus, with a stop at Drill Hall Library as well.
The shuttle is a MUST! I live in Canterbury and work in Medway, and the long walk to Kent Business School is definitely something that should be changed! If not, student experience will suffer dramatically, which will be seen in NSS, negatively affecting the University as an entity!
The walk to the dockyard is time consuming and often requires people to skip meals to arrive on time, and there is a lack of places to buy food and beverages to suit everyone's needs and tastes
I'm not sure who's idea this was - but is a fantastic idea! I have rented a bike but I can see even this becoming inconvenient when the winter comes. I also take my guitar to and from the dockyard, being a BMus student - so this would be very convenient!
It is also very problematic to get to the Dockyard from Canterbury as the shuttle bus usually arrives at the main Medway campus 10 minutes before the start of lectures and seminars and the walk to the Dockyard is often 20min
Much needed
The movement to the dockyard was kept reasonably quiet in my second year- the only way they managed to sway us into thinking it would be a good idea was the PROMISE of a shuttle from the dockyard to the campus, and then straight on to Liberty Quays. I'm on my placement year now, and I'm looking at accommodation which is a bit further out in order to save money. It hardly seems fair that as the Medway campus has so little choice for accommodation (especially for first years!), KBS students are now forced to walk for up to an hour in order to be at uni for a seminar. Attendance was enough of an issue for my year- do they really think that not having some form of free transport for students is actually going to work?

By the time we walk to the Dockyard from the last shuttle stop, we miss out on 5-10 mins of the lectures and seminars , this is interrupting with our studies and reflects upon our attendance figures because some lecturers do not let you in seminars and lectures after 5 minutes past the starting time !
