As a small group of students we have conducted surveys all around campus in hopes of finding the most prominent problem faced by students and lecturers alike. Our tests concluded that theft and overall safety is the biggest issue in the area. which is why we have decided to work at improving overall safety in CPUT District 6 campus.
This petition will be the voice of CPUT students to help improve security on campus. We need all in favour to act now and help spread awareness of this issue by signing this petition. Thank you!

The CPUT administration continues to ignore the theft and danger students face every single day. We are currently gathering detailed reports of these incidents to force their hand because their silence on our safety is an insult to everyone on this campus.

The administration at CPUT can no longer ignore the tidal wave of students demanding an end to this rampant theft. We have the momentum now and the university leadership must finally face the reality that our campus is not safe.

We are in desperate need for better security on our campuses for we still feel unsafe. We need to fell safe and ptotected but we are not.
Security at the district 6 campus needs to be improved, it is scary the amount of people who are able to freely enter the campus
It is definitely needed because I feel extremely scared walking from where the taxi drops me and when I have to walk to the bus terminal .
I can only hope that security across campus could increase to reduce crimes. Safety for students and staff should be priority #1
I had my laptop stolen right out of my bag in the library last week. Nobody checks who walks through those doors and it is completely out of control.
More security please
