Disband the current committee of the CSPCA Mahon
The CSPCA Mahon Cork established in 1870 to provide shelter and care for the stray and abandoned animals of Cork. The current committee have repeatly ignored claims for better conditions and basic veterinary care for for the animals that end up in the CSPCA. The committee has, over the last 12 months. aided by the current staff stopped voluntary dog walking, foster care and hindered any other rescue taking dogs into their care. The CSPCA is being operated as one would operate a pound. Animals have come out of this so called 'rescue' covered with fleas and infested with worms. The majority of animals are not vaccinated and certainly not neutered which can only add to the already over population of animals in the city and county. We believe that the committee, have failed in their basic duty of care and compassion due to the animals in their care that is the basis of any SPCA in the world. We ask all animal lovers of the country to sign this petition to demand that the current committee be disbanded and a new veterinary practice be appointed to look after the welfare of the animals. The animals of this city and county derserve better.
