Derby City Council finally backed down and restored the funding for Derbyshire Voice. They clearly realized that silencing mental health patients was a fight they could not win. We forced them to listen and we proved that our community is not to be ignored.

“We the undersigned want Derby City Council to reconsider their proposal to withdraw 100% of the funding for Derbyshire Voice and to recognise it is imperative mental health service receivers are supported to have involvement in the provision of the council’s services to this group of potentially vulnerable people.”

Derby City Council is still ignoring us while they waste millions on their precious office building. We are currently demanding a sit-down with those responsible for these cowardly cuts. Their silence proves they are terrified of the people they are supposed to serve.

Absolute joke. They have money for the council house but not for people who actually need help? Disgraceful.
Mental health services are needed more than ever right now. Dont cut this help.
Need to keep this service running. It helps so many people stay on track.
This is just short sighted management. They will end up spending way more than they save when things go wrong for people.
Leave the funding alone. Some of us depend on this.
