Steven Watkins was gunned down while attempting to pick up his daughter for visitation at the home of his ex-wife's grandparents, Kenneth and Shirley Skinner. Jennifer, his ex-wife, was also in the home at the time. Shirley was convicted of first-degree murder in the shooting and is serving a 55-year prison sentence.

Her family is now hoping to get clemency from the Governor of Illinois to release Shirley after serving just a few years of this sentence. Please sign this petition to let the Governor know that she should serve out her full sentence and that clemency should be DENIED for this murderer!

No clemency. She should serve the entire sentence for the murder of Steven Watkins who was shot in the back of the head.

Shirley Skinner murdered Steven Watkins in cold blood because he behaved as any loving responsible Father should. She laid in wait, ambushed him and shot him in the back of the head. This woman is obviously a danger to anyone who doesn't do what she wants them to do. She should remain in prison.

She should serve the full sentence. Her story isn't truthful. There is no way this 5 foot tall woman simply reached up on top of a six foot cabinet to get the gun. There was more than her involved. She should now suffer for what happened.

Please do not allow this vicious dangerous woman back out on the streets. She showed no mercy to a young man who just wanted to see his son. It's sad because Jennifer should be locked up with her. She got to live a long life free will and a young man lost his life and a daughter lost her father.

Governor Quinn please give a no clemency to Shirley Skinner. Shirley Skinner should serve her entire sentence for the execution of Steven Watkins. I have been following this case in such disbelief starting with the joke of the police investigation of Steven's death. It appears that the police chief was doing whatever he could to mess up the investigation which should have been turned over to a higher jurisdiction from the get go. The Watkin's family has suffered enough dealing with the Skinner family please give consideration of the Watkin's family with your clemency decision for the sake of Steven's children the justice they deserve for their father's death at the hands of a killer. Appreciate your time concerning this matter. Carolyn Gillman

She was found guilty and should serve her time. Steven W. didn't get a second chance at life and she shouldn't either. Supposedly, there were several family members at home when the killing happened and none of them came forward to proclaim Shirley's innocents.

Please keep this EVIL woman in prison. Show her the same mercy she showed the man she killed - ZERO.

If you take a life you should die in prison. You age should not be a factor. Shirley Skinner should have thought about dying in prison before she took Steven Watkins' life.
