PETITION TO GOVENOR JOHN BEL EDWARDS TO DENY THE PAROLE OF SAMUEL GABRAITH
IN 1988 KAREN EADS HILL, AGE 21, WAS ABDUCTED FROM THE CONVENIENCE STORE WHERE SHE WORKED ON ENTRANCE ROAD IN LEESVILLE, VERNON PARISH, LOUISIANA. HILL'S BODY WAS LATER DISCOVERED WITHIN VERNON PARISH IN KISATCHIE NATIONAL FOREST. HILL HAD BEEN ABDUCTED, RAPED, TIED TO A TREE, AND SHOT IN THE LEFT EYE. IN 1997 SAMUEL GALBRAITH WAS ARRESTED AND THEN LATER CONVICTED OF THE MURDER OF KAREN HILL. GALBRAITH WAS SENTENCED TO 71 YEARS IN THE LOUISIANA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS. MEMBERS OF THE LOUISIANA PARDON - PAROLE BOARD RECENTLY GRANTED GALBRAITH PAROLE AFTER SERVING LESS THAN 20 YEARS.
WE THE UNDERSIGNED, ARE CONCERNED CITIZENS WHO IN SIGNING THIS PETITION COMPEL LOUISIANA GOVERNOR JOHN BEL EDWARDS TO TAKE THE NECESSARY LEGAL STEPS TO ENSURE JUSTICE FOR KAREN HILL AND HER FAMILY BY DENYING SAMUEL GALBRAITH PAROLE. WE REQUEST A REVIEW OF THE ACTIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE LOUISIANA PARDON AND PAROLE BOARD WHO VOTED IN FAVOR OF GALBRAITH'S PAROLE. WE ALSO REQUEST THAT GOVERNOR EDWARDS SEEK TO CHANGE ANY LOUISIANA LAW THAT WOULD ENTITLE VIOLENT OFFENDERS THE RIGHT TO PAROLE PRIOR TO 85 % OF THEIR SENTENCE BEING SERVED. WE MAKE THESE REQUESTS OF GOVERNOR EDWARDS IN AN EFFORT TO ENSURE THE SAFETY AND WELL BEING OF THE CITIZENS OF THE STATE OF LOUISIANA.

He deserves to stay in prison!!!! This man has took the life of my cousin at such a young age. He made her suffer, as many people know she was a very caring, considerate person. She would help anyone in need. THIS MAN KILLED ONCE, HE WILL DO IT AGAIN!!!!!!
As a Licensed Professional Counselor who has worked with sexual offenders, I can state with certainty that this man will offend again if he is released. Please do everything you can to stop his release. He hasn't served his time, and should NOT be released.
I really can't understand why this man is being released. He only got caught because he told his fantasy to some guys, not because detectives got the job done and now he just gets released back into society to do it again. It makes Louisiana look ridiculous
How can you justify paroling this monster after what he did to Karen? Have u lost your mind?What's to keep him from doing it to some other unsuspecting young woman? Is Karen going to get a parole from death? I don't think so. Keep this animal in prison where he belongs.
KEEP THAT ANIMAL LOCKED UP! He brutally raped, kidnapped, and killed my friend Karen. We want JUSTICE TO BE SERVED! Her mom didn't get a chance to speak at the parole board! UNACCEPTABLE! Her family doesn't deserve this. He is a MONSTER.
The release of this man is a disgrace. He should be at least serving the majority of his sentence. Punishment to match the crime is just as important as the so called rehabilitation of offenders. This man is a severe risk to the public and the justice system is in place to protect the public.
Let him serve his time. He made a deal that allowed him to save his life. Honor your deal paycho

I was named after Karen Hill and this is heinous to even consider the judicial system is so f*cked they would consider letting her KILLER; the person that TOOK HER LIFE, go free to live a life and die free and happy. NO THANK YOU. This should not even be an option.
