On April 24, 1981, Charles Manning, was arrested and charged with the first degree murder of his former wife and stepdaughter. He pled guilty on February 27, 1987 in order to avoid a possible death penalty he entered a plea bargain agreement to reduced charges of second degree murder and was sentenced to serve fifty years as a Range II offender (an especially aggravated crime). He was actually given Two 50 year sentences to run concurrent. We the families of his victims (Sylvia June Waycaster age 41 and Belthia Ann Waycaster age 17 at the time of their murder) have opposed any form of early release since Mr. Manning first came up for parole after only 1 year in prison. This is our last chance to keep him in prison. To date he has shown no remorse and remains a threat to society and should remain incarcerated until the end of his sentence.
