For Years Delmere Residents have been asking Meath County Council to take seriously the issues with the waste water problems on Delmere Estate in Enfield.Every resident in Delmere Pay their property tax .Residents on the estate have to put up with Foul smells coming from the sewage system..This is unacceptable .We call on meath county council,Irish water, and our local poloiical reps to take this issue seriously.Please sign this petition and lobby your local political reps to get this issue sorted once and for all.

I sent a complaint to the EPA last year when the sewage was flowing down the road.The EPA logged the complaint and contacted MCC.The council responded in the usual short fix way by sending out someone to clear the blockage .The council think that clearing the blockage will fix the problem ,but this is not dealing with the root cause of the issue. I have raised this issue with Enda Flynn AND Damien English on many occasions and it feels like banging your head against a brick wall.I wonder if our local reps had the same issue where they live would they put up with "CRAP" we have to deal with for years.
Sewage coming up out of the man hole covers and floating down the streets has also occurred. We should also be contacting the epa to file a complaint there.
I would urge those with any concerns about the quality of their water to have it independently tested - don't relay on the likes of Meath Co Co - for an independent test visit this site for more details http://oldcastlelabs.ie/water-testing-2/ From what I hear the water in Enfield is very poor quality and its always been like that - and I'm sure you all have to deal with lime scale problems in Kettles and water heaters which all add to the costs of your water supply - tip of an iceberg - might be worth while writing to the council or Irish Water and ask what type of water treatment (if any) is used to supply Enfield Regards Paul Mc Carthy PS: I have no affiliation to Oldcastle Labs - I have a private well and I have to have it tested every couple of years

We get nasty smell problems coming up the shower, bath & sinks upstairs on occasion. We installed a salt based water treatment a number of years ago. We also installed a reverse osmosis system in the kitchen so we could boil the kettle. The water in Enfield is disgusting. We had a rep from Meath Co Co out a no of years ago to test water & they claimed it was OK. Not good enough.
