The act of baiting deer is gaining ground across the U.S. In Tennessee you can put out bait in an area but before you go hunt that area the bait has to be gone for 10 days. I would like to be able to hunt over bait. This would benefit many people other than just hunters. I plan on taking this petition to a meeting with the senator and our wildlife agency.

I have been reading through the different perspectives you all are sending in and it is clear that many people feel strongly about how we manage our wildlife. This is becoming a much larger conversation than I ever imagined and I am just doing my best to organize the feedback so we can present it clearly when the time comes to meet with the officials.

I am honestly a bit overwhelmed by the momentum this has gained so quickly. This response belongs entirely to those of you who decided this issue was worth your time and energy. It is truly humbling to see so many people connecting over this concern.

Absolutely! What's the difference in hunting a food plot or a deer feeder? Food plots are only for people who can afford the farm implements to plant them. Even the odds for those of us who don't have that luxury.

I am for baiting. Hunting over a field of corn stalks is legal but throwing corn kernels and hunting over those is illegal? i dont have the money or energy and time to grow acres of corn stalks but i can easily put corn kernels on the ground for deer to enjoy.

The claim baiting hurts deer just is not true. KY allows bait and their deer heard is just fine. I hunt as a non resident in KY and would love to be able to at home in TN.

I support it! Because once all my corn is gone so aren’t my deer and it makes it harder for me to get a kill each year, and i rely on deer meat every year as a major food source in my family.

Signed please pass baiting on private property. We pay plenty of tax and higher lic fees then any surrounding states to hunt. Otherwise I save my $170 and go to GA to buy a lic. I would even limit the land owner permits

It’s silly we can’t drop corn and hunt over it but can drop minerals and hunt over it. Please change this law
