By signing this public petition, I am showing my support for transforming the 1.5 mile abandoned rail line, which extends from East Street in Dedham Square (by Gonzalez Field) to the Readville train station, into a multi-use, fully-accessible path incorporating and connecting public art, community gardens, and highlights of Dedham's rich history, with adjacent neighborhoods & schools. Note: The "Donate Now" tab that comes up after you sign is for ipetitions not the DHRT. If you wish to donate to the DHRT project visit: http://www.mission.earth/partners/portfolio/dedham...

Seeing this trail vision gain so much momentum reminds me of all the afternoons I spent wishing our neighborhood had a safe, green space to connect us. This growing support proves I am not the only one who wants to see our local history and community thrive along that old rail line.

I walk by that abandoned line every day and imagine my kids playing safely on a finished trail instead of staring at weeds. We are just a few names away from hitting our first hundred signatures so please send this link to your neighbors right now.

Looking forward to buying a bike and having a safe place to ride! I'm very active and will be 60 in June!! So excited about a safe place to keep active!

We lived in Arlington beside the Minuteman bikepath. We used it everyday--it defined the neighborhood in the most positive way. Also, it was a HUGE selling feature of our home.

As a runner and the parent of one (soon 2) small children, I think this would be a wonderful addition to our neighborhood. We bike and run on the rail trail in Harwich, MA all the time and love it. Abutting the rail trail is seen as a benefit of homeownership there, and it gets a ton of use.

I moved here from Australia where this sort of infrastructure is common place. I wish those opposed could understand how this project will actually revitalise the area and improve security and property value. its sad that the no campaigners are just scaremongering. This town desperately needs some bike infrastructure.

I am a direct abutter, and absolutely support the Dedham Rail Trail initiative. It will significantly improve derelict and unsafe rail bed into a community park.

As a physician and as a parent of two small children, I wholeheartedly support this effort to bring a safe and beautiful space to Dedham, which will promote improved health in our community.
