I don't know about you, but I am totally fed up with how our UK system works in regards to ABSENT parents. I have a 14 year old daughter whose father pays nothing towards her up bringing but sees her when its convenient for himself and his wife. He stopped paying for her at the age of 2 and even then it was scarce, as his excuse would be "I can't afford it this month". Now I cant afford as a parent, to tell my children "I'm sorry but I cant afford to feed nor clothe you this month"! Its a disgrace. I have recently contacted Child Support Agency and had a lovely lady sympathize with my situation but informed me that my daughters father has recently stopped working. Convenient as he stopped working after the CSA (Child Support Agency) contacted him. Its now alleged that the HOUSE HOLD is in receipt of benefits since the phone call made to him in which i find very strange as the wife in question has NEVER been out of work. I mean they both have a 5 yr old child to send to nursery. They have told me my daughter will receive 5 pounds each week and apologised. Although there is nothing they can do, I have decided to try and change this system. My proposal is. Each absent parent on benefits should be fined after three months in receipt of benefits. Then should be ordered to court if their circumstances has not changed. I also think that the court needs to think about considering short term prison sentences for absent parents that continue to break this rule. As for working parents. I propose the same thing. If u don't pay then a court order will be placed! Either way something has to be done. If you could please pass this on, as I intend to forward the petitions to 10 Downing Street to suggest he did something helpful for us single parents! I believe as a parent, you have a responsibility to take care of that child financially. Whether you wish to believe it or not. Philosophy. If you DON'T want the responsibility, then PROTECT yourself! Thank you for your time and patience.
