As a member of Local 2186 or Local 2187 of AFSCME DC 47, I would like our union to join other labor groups in officially endorsing the People's Climate March to take place at the United Nations on September 21, 2014. With human-caused climate change already affecting the weather and on a path to severely threaten our livelihood, DC 47 should use its grassroots strength to join the growing pressure on world leaders to make a commitment tobegin reducing emissions now in order to prevent devastating climate change scenarios.
