The doors are officially closed and the animals are finally being moved to safety. I am completely overwhelmed by what you all achieved because honestly I never thought this outcome was possible. Thank you for caring about these creatures enough to speak up for them when they could not.

This is a petition for daves aquarium (BAS aquatics) in Bolton to be shut down for good.
vileliving conditions, animal cruelty, dead fish and frogs floating in tanks, birds squashed into cages too small for them, rabbits and guinea pigs NO hay and water and no hideys sat under BRIGHT lamps. Chickens in tanks! stench disgusting.
Reptiles birds furrys all crammed into one section, birds looking larthagic and poorly and extremely MISERABLE!
Cookies left on side for customers to feed birds. chocolate can KILL.
Staff uninterested and scummy, feeding birds scraps of bread from the disgusting cafe.
Fish tanks mouldy and filthy
Peter hemingway the owner has previously been banned and prosecuted for his other store in leeds however he has managed to gain ownership of this store and animals are dying and suffering EVERYDAY boycott NOW! and lets get this store ceased and closed. the animals deserve a LIFE not each day in HELL suffering.

Marcia fletcher writes " I reported it all to the R.S.P.C.A. to no avail. They needed many more complaints before they would look into it. " I also reported it today. Please report it to the RSPCA 0300 1234 999 and also to the local council.
Disgusting place it should be closed down its dirty and smelly. They shouldn't have a meerkat as it's needs aren't being met kept in a squalid shop window on its own with a heater perched with wire exposed . So We should all contact the RSPCA
Bought a hamster from here had to have the poor little thing put to sleep. Due to having a disease.The vet asked were we bought it from and telephone number.poor poor animals don't let them suffer like this close this place down ASAP. !!!
Been in on and off over the years. They occasionally have a couple of staff that I trust regarding marines but they no longer seem to work on this section. Lots of dead and I'll fish and would not get any other animals from them. The smells are awful.
I would love to know from the council why they see this place fit to continue trading especially for the amount of people who have complained. Do they not inspect the welfare annually before a license is extended? Has anyone from the council ever been there?
A long overdue update here - following the license being revoked Dave's Aquarium continued trading just as a fishing tackle shop but finally closed for good around June 2024.
This man deserves jail and a lifetime ban on keeping & selling ALL animals. He's trying to blame his store closure on internet sales! Just walk in to that shop and you'll see dead, dying and unwell and lethargic fish in every tank. It's an "aquarium" and he can't even provide good husbandry for the fish!

Absolutely appalling set up from entering this vile shop, I bought a tortoise and it’s seriously poorly, owner isn’t interested and didn’t seem concerned or shocked. No chance they have public liability insurance or a H&S record for this place!!
