Daves Aquarium Bolton to be boycotted and closed down

A long overdue update here - following the license being revoked Dave's Aquarium continued trading just as a fishing tackle shop but finally closed for good around June 2024.

This man deserves jail and a lifetime ban on keeping & selling ALL animals. He's trying to blame his store closure on internet sales! Just walk in to that shop and you'll see dead, dying and unwell and lethargic fish in every tank. It's an "aquarium" and he can't even provide good husbandry for the fish!

Shouldn't allow them to have meerkat space far too small close them down

Anyone who treats living creatures with such disrespect should not be existing in the market place. I'm disgusted with them.

Peter Hemsworth will not rectify mistakes made by his staff talkes on the phone like a complete imbecile and will mot give his name on the phone I am a 71 year old cripple and he thinks it is OK to shout and ball at me. His staff just stood by and did nothing.the sooner it is closed the better

The place is absolutely disgusting, why on earth did the trading standards, Bolton council and RSPCA not intervene years ago when clearly the animals inside were suffering. Cruel cruel man.

This place has been in a bad state for many years, the play area was last good in 2017 then they stopped cleaning it and it looks like it was abandoned in the 90's,the place had a bad smell, the place was so untidy that I tripped over because some of the dog toys and cat toys were on the floor, which I don't know why, have they ever cleaned it? It's awful and I hope the animals are ok it's so unhealthy and a bad place to be, I would never want to get my pet from there because I love animals and they get mistreated at daves aquarium, last time I visited that place was to get a cat toy and there was none on the shelf because they was all on the floor so I have never been there since because it is disgusting and revolting and my mum started heaving because there was poo on the sink in the toilet there, I do not recommend this place to anyone or anything I regret ever going there and the ball pit was all over the floor,bad animal care and I'm happy they lost there licence because I care about animals to much and when I heard about the cat in freezer I started crying because I have 3 cats

Cruelty to animals is not acceptable. The store smells, the aquarium side is awful.

I raised query years ago about lone meerkat these belong in a group

And a prison sentence for him would be nice.

Lets hope he isn`t allowed to trade any more.

July 2021 we went into dates aquarium to Buy pet food the first we noticed was the meerkat enclosure was absolutely filthy disgusting and unfit of any animalto go in never mind live in....we was absolutely disgusted by the state of the shop it was dirty rubbish everywhere, items hanging off the shelves, it smelt foul and the first thing we said was if its like this how are the treating the animals in here!!!

I went in with my partner in July 2021 and we were shocked. The place was filthy. Strewn with rubbish everywhere, all over the store, paper, grime, dust. No cleaners in 6months, we thought. The meercat and the front had 3 dirty teddies. We were so shocked.
