To whom it may concern. It wouldappear that South East Local Authorities operate double standards regarding off road 4x4 vehicles.During the recent inclement weather, local authoritiesacross the south East welcomed 4x4 owner drivers whenesential medical staff andcare workers needed to get to work in hospitals and to deliver hot meals to elderly and housebound people. Now that we are no longer needed in this capacity4x4 drivers haveonce again become"persona non grata" to local councils., Dartford 4x4 off road site has been forced to close. This is apparently due to a legal technicality - however, this is our training and recreation area that we pay to use and accept and respect the local environment whilst doing so. The sensible course of action would have been to work WITH the owners of this site to resolve any issues while keeping it open. Instead, the sitehas been forced to close without thought for the impact this could have on byways,(that council's TRO, or close rather than repair)recreation time of VOTERS, the training benefits for certain organisations, not to mention those employed in the running of this site. I would ask you to support us in our endeavour to have the site re-opened as soon as possible, surely to the benefit of all sections of the community, particularly those which experiencedour voluntary input in the recent severe weather conditions.
I have requested a formal meeting with the planning department to clarify the specific legal technicalities cited for the closure. We are currently drafting a letter to the local council outlining the site's role in vehicle training and community access. I will post an update once the council confirms a time to discuss these outstanding issues.

Need this place open. Where else are people meant to go legally? Stop pushing everyone onto the byways.

Ridiculous to shut it down. These guys helped everyone get to work when the snow was bad and now they just get kicked out? Sort it out.

Typical council decision. Dont want to help but want the help when they are in a bind. Let them drive.

Total nonsense. Council should be working with them not closing them down over some silly piece of paper. Reopen it now!

Keep it open. My husband uses this site and always cleans up after himself. It is a controlled space not just random driving everywhere.
