I just walked past the wall and the paint is still there which feels like a small win but I keep worrying that one morning I will wake up and it will all be gone. Some of you have sent me the most beautiful stories about Daniel and honestly I have been reading them while sitting on the curb just to keep his memory close.

I really never thought this would take off like it has when I started typing this out in my kitchen but looking at all these names makes the wall feel so much more permanent now. It honestly feels like the neighborhood is finally seeing that we cared about Daniel and that we care about the work those kids poured their hearts into. Seeing this momentum is honestly wild and it makes me want to fight even harder to keep the paint where it belongs.

Dumb move. The mural is the only thing that makes that block look decent. DONT TOUCH IT
This is honestly so messed up. The wall looks amazing and those kids worked so hard on it. Leave it alone!
Ridiculous. Waste of council time and money to paint over something that actually brings life to the street.
So much effort went into this. It would be a total slap in the face to everyone who helped if you cover it up now.
Leave the wall alone! It shows respect and the kids did a good thing for the neighborhood.
