We believe that snowmobiling at Chenango Valley State Park will be a high impact to the tranquility of the park and and would be out of character with the natural setting the park offers. Snowmobiling would be a detriment and potential danger to wildlife and those doing low-impact winter activities such as cross-country skiing, snow shoeing and hiking. Unplowed roads are more appropriate for snowmobiles than the existing hiking and bike trails in the park. We feel the park is not large enough to accomodate snowmobiles without a serious loss of enjoyment by those who currently use it during winter in a low impact way today.
