The City of Tampa plans to cut back on several features that have been planned for the makeover of Curtis Hixon Park to trim costs: a dog park, a building to house canoe or kayak rentals, snack bar, visitors center, shaded trellis, and misting fountain near the river. Urban dwellers have dogs, and they need a place downtown to let their dogs run free. We are asking fellow downtown residents and business owners to voice their opinions about keeping the dog park or other features that are now slated to be cut from the plans.
