Fight The Carbon Tax

On Thursday, February 19, 2008, the British Columbia Liberal Government released, what they called, The Green Budget. In this budget was a new Carbon Tax of 2.41 cents per litre on gasoline, increasing to 7.24 cents by 2012, and 2.76 cents per litre on diesel, increasing to 8.27 cents in the same 5 year period. We are already paying very close to the highest fuel prices in North America, and now the government wants us to pay more. How do they justify this They are offering us a one time rebate of $100. This is pathetic at best. The result of this tax will be a loss of personal revenue, possibly totalling several thousand dollars per year per operator. In protest, we, the professional drivers of British Columbia, have signed our names to this petition to show the government that we will not tolerate them taking money from our pockets. We demand that you return to us the right to earn a living in our chosen profession
