Concerned residents of River Oaks have asked the City of Brentwood to install a crosswalk with flashing lights across Granny White at the Johnson Chapel entrance to River Oaks to slow oncoming traffic on Granny White. Children and adults cross this busy street at that location every day. The City of Brentwood has asked the residents of River Oaks to voice their opinion concerning the crosswalk. Please sign the petition in order to make this very important project happen. (Residents of River Oaks age 18+ only)

I spent the morning watching traffic zoom past the chapel entrance again and it is honestly terrifying how fast those cars move when kids are just trying to get across the street. People keep telling me their own scary stories about near misses at that exact spot which honestly makes me want to start emailing the city council members every single hour until they finally pay attention because we cannot just wait for something bad to actually happen before someone decides to put up a simple light.

Would love to see this for the safety of all our residents... walking to school, the park, wherever. If Brentwood desires to be a "walking community," we must make it safe. I watch children cross safely in the crosswalk with flashing lights in front of BMS. Let's make that happen for our neighborhood too!

It would be nice to be able to know your kids can get across safely and in a timely manor. It's too dangerous and far for our kids to walk or ride a bike on the west side of Granny White to get up to the light to cross safely.

This is much needed. I have almost been hit on my bike a number of times when exiting our neighborhood at this location. How are our children supposed to safely walk to school without this?

We cross this quite frequently to walk to granny white park. I often times have to rely on kind drivers to stop in both lanes to cross with me and my stroller. We are really having to take a dangerous gamble.

Plenty of students, including my daughter, walk and ride their bike to BMS. This is an absolute must and considering there is one at the entrance to Foxboro neightborhood, I see no reason why one should not go here.

Mike Tucker, River Oaks, Brentwood, TN. While walking my dog I frequently have to cross Granny White Pike at Johnson Chapel Road. Increased traffic has made this a dangerous process. Please install a crosswalk with flashing lights at that intersection.

I'd like to know more about the flashing light....does it face drivers or pedestrians? Basically, how is it going to work..

This is long overdue for the safety of our neighbors in River Oaks, especially the children walking home from school.
