We, members of the JHS 194 community, are requesting your assistance with a situation which threatens the safety of our children on an everyday basis. The hazardous traffic conditions at 17th Avenue and Francis Lewis Boulevard are putting our children at risk. Since yellow buses are no longer available to our 7th and 8th Graders, the extra pedestrian traffic at this intersection increases the chance of a tragic accident. This intersection is in dire need of a crossing guard or traffic agent to ensure that our children can cross the street safely. Anything you can do to help our cause will be greatly appreciated. The situation must be rectified before something tragic occurs. Thank you for your help.
