Hello everyone! I am creating this petition to see how many people would be interested if NELB offered specialties/concentrations. These specialties would allow those who are taking correlated classes to have priority registration over others who chose different specialties. For example, those going into criminal law would have priority to register for classes such as incarceration & the law, evidence & advocacy, etc.

What is happening now is not working and many students are not happy with how our class selection is working. If NELB offered specialties, I believe it would solve the issue of students not getting into classes that are directly related to what field they want to go into after they graduate. Many other law schools have specialties, and I think it would create more fairness and opportunity when registering. This petition will be submitted to the registrar and the dean, so they can see how many people would prefer this system or something similar.

It costs $54,384 every year to go here. So students paying 163,152$ over three years. For going into six-figure debt, we should be able to take the classes we want to. I don't think that's too much to ask.

This would be so helpful. I missed out on two core classes last semester because they filled up so fast and now my whole schedule is messed up for graduation.

About time someone said something. Things are a mess right now.

Are not many of these fields already covered through/by way of internships/clinics? Or read a book/online research? Still, sounds like a valid plan of capturing knowledge.

Finally. It makes no sense that I have to fight for a spot in a criminal law elective when that is literally what I came here to do.

Thank you for doing this! Not getting the classes I will need to complete the concentration was one of my biggest worries for next year.
