PETITION TO THE VALE OF GLAMORGAN COUNCIL CABINET MEMBER FOR REGENERATION, INNOVATION, PLANNING AND TRANSPORTATION
We the undersigned wish to register our opposition to the allocation of Darren Farm Cowbridge for development in the Draft LDP for the folowing reasons:
1. A National Assembly Inspector has ruled against development of the site following a full public inquiry in 2003
2.The proposal is an unnecessary extension of development into the open countryside on a productivegreenfieldagricultural site when there is a proposed alternative site in the western Vale with a high brownfield content
3.The proposal would harm the main livelihood and amenity of the lifetime tenant of Darren Farm
4. The proposal would cause a substantial change in the special landscape character of the site from rural to urban, including the setting of Llanblethian Hill Fort (scheduled ancient monument).
5. The proposal would increase the already high proportion ofCowbridge population who commute to work which is contrary to the sustainability principle at the heart of planning policy.

What a shame. cowbridge is losing its charm fast with all this over-development. listen to the people who actually live here.
Cowbridge is already way too congested. adding more houses without infrastructure is just plain stupid.
The inspector stopped this years ago for a reason. why are they trying to drag it up again?
Keep our countryside green. we have enough traffic as it is
Darren farm is beautiful as it is. leave our greenbelt alone for once and build on the brownfield sites like everyone suggests. stop ruining cowbridge!!
