This is a petition signed by members of Wandle staff in opposition to the proposed 1% salary increase this year. We feel that our salaries are not being adequately protected by Wandle against the negative effects of inflation and feel that anything less than a 2% increase is unacceptable. We are very aware of current economic realities and it is for this reason that we are asking for no more than 2%. Even at this rate Wandle staff face a shortfall in the real value of their pay by a cumulative total of 2% from 2007. We are prepared to accept this shortfall for the greater good of the organisation but must insist that far more is done to protect staff pay than is currently being proposed. Wandle Staff
I am currently drafting a formal letter to the Board of Management to outline why the proposed salary increase fails to address the cumulative shortfall in staff pay. We have requested a meeting to present the data regarding inflation and its impact on our household budgets. I will provide a summary of their response as soon as it is received.

its getting so hard to make ends meet on this salary. 2 percent is the bare minimum we should be getting.

1 percent is insulting. we need to keep up with inflation at the very least.

1% is basically a pay cut with how much rent and bills have gone up. we work hard and deserve better than this.

really disappointed with this offer. we all put in 100 percent everyday and this just feels like a slap in the face.
