Opposing the Parole of Convicted Cop Killer Teddy Rose
Dear Sir or Madam,
Please accept this letter as my strong opposition to Convicted Cop Killer Teddy Rose from being granted parole in his coming parole hearing.
As you know, Rose murdered Irvington Police Officer Anthony J. Garaffa back in 1984. Officer Garaffa was just 41 years old and left behind a wife and two year old daughter. He had been with the Irvington Police Department for sixteen years. The utter selfishness in taking the life of another is one of the most heinous acts in any society. This is amplified when the life taken is that of a police officer, someone who has answered the calling to protect and to serve.
If Teddy Rose were to be released, it would be depriving Officer Garaffa, his family and his colleagues of the justice they deserve. No one asked Teddy Rose to pull that trigger. He did it himself and must face the consequences.
We send police officers out each night to protect us. When one is murdered, we owe it to him or her and all other officers to make sure that justice is done.
The killing of Officer Garaffa destroyed lives. It was so unnecessary and so wasteful.
It has been almost thirty-four years since that day, and we owe it to Officer Garaffa to keep his memory alive and his killer in prison.
So, please accept this letter as my strong opposition to the granting of parole for Convicted Cop Killer Teddy Rose.

I saw him put his hand in the bag, raise the gun and pull the trigger. The orange flash haunts me. The scream that officer Garraffa let out haunts me. Teddy Rose should NEVER EVER be a free man. He should have been putvto death.
Teddy Rose has never accepted the responsibility for his actions, failed to attend classes provided by the State Correctional System. He was sentenced to death for his actions and that was commuted to Life in prison. That is where he must remain!!
There will never be a time for Officer Garaffa, to spend days with his family, to see his daughter grown up or to retire after selflessly giving of himself to the community he spent 16 years protecting. Why should Teddy Rose get to have these things. Absolutely no way he should be out of a cage.
He was my brother-in-law, he was a father of a two-year-old little girl who grew up without a father. The whole family sat in the ER Several hours as everyone worked to save his life but failed. His killer should not be paroled and out living his life
I am a retired Irvington Police Officer. This parole hearing should not happen. Their is a New Jersey Supreme Court decision that clearly states Rose lost his appeal and is not eligible for another hearing until 2021. Docket number A-4315-14T1
The original conviction was correct. Also since a police officer was killed in performance of his job, the change in the death penalty would have resulted in death of Mr Rose. Therefore with that removal, he sould remain in prison, maximum, for life. Tha officer killed and his family do not have recovery, nor do I condone Mr Rose getting parole.
He killed a cop, he should. Be incarcarated for life, NJ does not have death penalty for cop killers

I was superior officer President the night Tony was killed. Responded to the hospital and saw the look of anguish on the face of the family and other officers. Never forgot. Teddy Rose is where he belongs for life
