**SIGN ONLY IF YOU ARE A LICENSED CT TATTOO ARTIST**
The Connecticut tattoo industry is currently controlled only by the Connecticut health department due to the new licensing that went into effect January 2015.
Ct tattoo artists are now paying with their fees to be governed by people outside the tattoo community..... meaning we, the actual tattooers, have NO say in our regulations. By introducing a board for professional tattoo artists, we will work along side the ct health department to help keep our craft sacred and safe. This will help any further issues such as tattoo schools, and misinformed new regulations imposed by those NOT in our industry.
The signatures collected on this petition will be presented to the right government officials to show that we, the tattooers of Connecticut, stand together ready and willing for this change.

We are currently drafting a formal proposal to ensure a board of actual tattooers oversees our industry standards. CT license #026. Paying taxes and fees in ct for 20 years. Asking for more than petty requirements for licensing with no enforcement.
As a professional tattoo artist of several years, I find this highly disrespectful to our craft and culture. I have bled and slaved myself to be where i am, so this "school" spits on all the years of ambitious sacrifice.
Let the tattooists and industry professionals that know the business make up the board!!
Tattoo school sounds rediculous. Imagine not having an apprenticeship in construction. Imagine that you just learn for 2 weeks to a monthly and then instantly start on big projects. Sounds pretty crazy, like in construction, theres alot to learn in tattooing that cannot be taught within a month.
Dangerous Approach to learn the trade of tattooing. As well "tattoo schools" take advantage of people who do not know how to get into the tattoo industry.
End all regulation on body modification in CT. Let reputable studios preserve their integrity by hiring competent employees.
this is a joke! if you try and learn here you will have to relearn everything you were taught, like i said this is a joke! do yourself a favor and go get a real apprenticeship at a reputable shop!

Licensing was forced upon CT tattooers by individuals with little knowledge of tattooing and those same people are now letting unlicensed individuals perform tattoos with next to no training and minimal supervision. How is this justified ? Where are my hard earned dollars going ?
