The youth is calling for the installation of Free WiFi Zones across local community centers of uMhlathuze townships to provide residents with internet access. These WiFi Zones will allow the people to access information on job opportunities, educational content for learning, online classes and connect us to the global community we live in.
BENEFITS OF FREE WIFI:
* Search Job Opportunities / Advertised Posts On The Internet
* Access to educational content for Assignments, Job Applications, Business Plans etc
* Building stronger online communities for Businesses.
* Local Economic Development
* Quicker information sharing network; enhances traditional means of communication.
* Exploitation of the Social Influencer market for benefit of the uMhlathuze people.
The Free WiFi model has started being implemented by certain municipalities across South Africa. uMhlathuze Municipality, being one of KZN’s leading municipalities, should be leading in investing in the future of the youth of uMhlathuze.
We have earmarked schools, public halls and local libraries as they key areas of focus.

I support this. We need wifi. Mostly near all libraries in umhlathuze. In every ward
Everything is online even information the municipality they use online platform to reach us the public. It's makes a whole of sense to have free access to internet. Invest in youth through Accessing free Internet
Internet access is a very essential need in this day and age without it, it is hard to progress in life... Bringing wifi to our communities will allow people to connect with the rest of the world and bring more opportunities to our people
I fully agree as this will help us reduce crime and unemployment rate. The youth will be proactive and developing all communities.
I strongly support what i've just read...you cannot tell me that it's right for the whole township to have one community library with only 7 computers that have a slow internet, the whole community share these computers 30 min each person, NO!
